THE LAMP
Most likely from the 50’s the body is a ram, which teeters
(For lack of the right word) on a fragile v. The v, I’m sure,
Is meant to mimic stem uncurling from a round black base,
The creature’s horn is more a spine that comes to a point.
The face is long and in repose, eyes cast as if asleep. On
Its back are eighteen bumps that define its sliding shape. A
Shaft pierces through its ribcage which leads to an up-standing
White light. This light is dimmed by a shade with threadbare leaves.
